Are your products vegan?

All of our products are vegan friendly, cruelty free and paraben free. We only buy ingredients from suppliers who can provide evidence of this. We can provide an SDS sheet for each fragrance blend with a full ingredients list on request. 

What are your candles made of?

Our candles are made from 100% natural pure soy wax, with high quality fragrance oils. They are vegan friendly, cruelty free and paraben free.

What are your wax moon melts made of?

Our wax Moon Melts are made with a high performance blend of soy and mineral wax which gives a fantastic hot throw, with high-quality fragrance oils. They are vegan friendly, cruelty free and paraben free. Each Moon Melt contains dried florals, either foraged from local woodlands, or collected from my moms allotment and dried by us naturally. 

Are your products highly scented?

All candles and wax melts are made with a high level of care and poured at specific temperatures in the correct environments, ensuring you have a strong hot and cold throw. 

Do you make everything yourself?

Yes! We are a one-man-band here at Hollow and Moon. Every candle and melt is made by me, by hand, here at my home in the west midlands. A lot of time, care and pride goes into making every single candle and melt that we pour. 

Are your ingredients ethically scoured? 

Of course. We use trustworthy, UK suppliers for all of our products which includes but isn’t limited to packaging, labels, wax and oils. 

Can I only buy Hollow and Moon online?

You can buy Hollow and Moon products via our website. We also have selection of products available on our Etsy page. We will also be at markets throughout the year, please see our Instagram page for details on our upcoming events.

Why is the product I want on pre-order? 

We make all of our candles and moon melts in small batches, occasionally the demand may be higher than the stock we have available, so we will offer you a pre-order option. Our candles and melts have a cure time (7-14 days), which is why we can’t make and ship out straight away. Your pre-order dispatch date will be listed on the product page. 

A product is out of stock, what can I do?

We try to replenish our stock as quickly as possible, but due to the curing times of our candles, sometimes products will go out of stock temporarily. If you’d like to enquire when a product will be available for sale again, please feel free to contact us at hello@hollowandmoon.co.uk. 

Do you offer discounts?

We offer 10% all full priced items when you sign up for our newsletter online. We will also occasionally run offers and promotions on our website so keeps your eyes peeled. We also have bundle deals available on our melts and jar candles all year round. See more on our offers page.

Why is my candle tunnelling?

Candle tunneling is when a candle burns straight down the middle, leaving a thick ring of unused wax around the edges of the jar. Instead of melting evenly across the top, the flame only melts a narrow “tunnel” through the center. This often happens because the first burn was too short. Wax has “memory,” so if the melt pool doesn’t reach edge-to-edge the first time, the candle will continue to tunnel. This is why it is so important to burn your candle for a minimum of 2 hours on its first burn. Please refer to our candle care page for more information.

Why is there bubbles in my candle?

We always take several precautions when pouring to make sure there are minimal air bubbles and a smooth texture in our candles and wax melts, but soy wax is typically not a smooth wax, so you may notice such features, this is just the nature of your handmade product.
